As we begin to see the changing colors of Fall, we can look back with a smile and a deep breath at our busy and funfilled summer of interesting programs.
It all started with an amazing Wolfe Cantorial concert by Cantor Elias Rosemberg, accompanied by David Sparr. The response was so overwhelming that Cantor Rosemberg will be joining us once again next summer. The Play Analysis class with Dr. Barbara Waldinger, which segued into a Temple Acting class, came in July. I am pleased to say that we will enjoy Barbara’s insights once again next July. Our Lunch and Learn series featured Ruth Breindel speaking about the Jews, Greeks and Romans. For next year, she has promised an afternoon on “Daniel, A Man for All Times”. Rabbi Josh helped us to get acquainted with Elijah - The Prophet of Fire when he took center stage in a two-part class. We shared Latin music, delicious desserts and an informative talk on our Jubano Evening – a highlight in August, led by Rabbi Arthur and Linda Starr. Of course we won’t forget our two theater parties, the fabulous Trash to Treasures Tag Sale, the wonderful dinner in honor of Rabbi Salzmann’s special birthday, the Torah Trek, or our newly initiated Tot Shabbat. It has been a VERY busy summer. A special thanks to all of you who participated in these wonderful programs and especially a GIANT THANK YOU to those who stepped up to the task of chairing these activities.
Now to the future. We look forward to the appearance of David Grover, who will be presenting a Chanakah concert for families in December, co-sponsored by the Federation and FREE to the Berkshire community.
We are busy, we are happy and we are involved. Please join us at any and all events and please feel free to offer your assistance at any time.
